Before you installed patch PHNE_23862, did you verify that you have the dependency patch of PHCO_10947 ??

Also, what kind of errors are you encountering? What OS, Server class, and lan card?

Also, PHNE_23863 can be used in place of PHNE_23862.

live free or die
harry

Just a note...
I have a D210 ( 9000/811 ) running 10.20.
I do NOT have PHNE_23862 or PHNE_22216 installed. But I do have PHKL_16751 and PHCO_10947 installed. We do not have a 100 Mbps NIC, only the onboard 10 Mbps.

When I enter "man landiag", I get the lanadmin man page. When I enter "man lanadmin", I get the same lanadmin man page. So it looks like the improper man page for landiag pre-dates these patches.
I think, perhaps, that lanadmin and landiag are one in the same. Even on HPUX 11.x, the same thing happens. It's possible that landiag was a valid command years ago, but has been replaced with lanadmin. However, since some administrators still demand to use "expired" commands - they have been accomodated with new functionality for old commands.

Constance

Landiag was popular in the 9.x and 10.00 world but your right that it has been replaced with lanadmin.

Can you run a lanadmin command from the command line?
ex: lanadmin -x 1

If so, I would also check the patch filesets to ensure that everything from the patch applied properly.

Frank - yes, lanadmin appears to work properly.

The original (and still is) problem was that the #man lanadmin command was causing errors.

Also, how DO you fix, clean up corrupt patches?
Harry - Thanks! Did as you instructed and it works fine now - no errors.

Just one more thing....

Melvyn Burnard wrote this in the previous post:

You may want to check that all patches are installed AND confiogured by doing:
swlist -l fileset -a state | grep -e transient -e install -e corrupt

and see what you get as output (hopefully nothing)

Well, I did that and received some output - some "corrupt" files on other patches. Should I be concerned? Can you clean these up?
Harry - here's another interesting thing about "make_recovery" and HPUX 10.20...

make_recovery (Ignite) is not supported on 10.20. I tried it and got some pretty wierd stuff - then did the research.

Ah well - we continue on.

All the best for the new year!
