topic monitoring kernel parameters in Operating System - HP-UX

Hi All,

I made changes to some kernel parameters npty, nstrpty, nstrtel. I want to monitor it during the peak time to know the percentage usage of those resources. Is there a way I can monitor to what extent the resources is being utilised- like how many people are telneting in during a period of time and things like that. Any info willbe appreciated

Yes you can, by using glance (measureware). It's a licensed product, but you can install a trial version (30 days). It should be on your first application CD.

live free or die
harry

Hi

You can collect the sar data for entire day and then analyze the kernel parameter.
Use crontab for scheduled job ; man sadc for more info.

Also with glance you can check the real time statastics.

-USA..
