    <description>Hi.  We are creating a new logical volume.  We are going to use a directory on this new logical volume as a place to back up our server system images to.  Do we need to set the file system to "allow large files" ? &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can anyone please advise?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Chad</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Short answer - yes&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I enable large files on all FS - just because I have had to go back and change them too many times.</description>

      <description>It depends how big your backup files are.&lt;BR /&gt;I set the allow large file option where my oracle databases reside.</description>

      <description>Yes, as long as the application you are using for backing up the server system images can read/write largefiles.</description>
