Hi Norman.

On HP-UX RAID is usually set up at a device level and not within the OS itself, although with Mirror Disk UX you can set up LVM mirroring.

So the question is now what disk devices are you using?

In terms of your SCSI information, what information are you looking for? ioscan -fun will give you the addressing of the devices. Anything more than that would depend on the device you are using.

Regards

Andrew Y

Hi Noman

I haven't used those series of unit for a long time but depending on which array you are using sam should be able to provide that information for you. Failing which you will have to connect a terminal to the RAID array itself and query it that way.

In terms of your boot disks you should be able to use vgdisplay -v vg00 to see if they are mirrored.

Regards

Andrew Y

If you have a Nike array then maybe this will help..

The scsi id's of the Storage Processors and the LUN number are shown in ioscan
EXAMPLE IOSCAN OUTPUT:

Class I H/W path Driver S/W State HW Type Description
disk 0 8/0.4.1 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC C2300WDR5
/dev/dsk/c0t4d1 /dev/rdsk/c0t4d1

-> (X stands for the RAID level) ->in this example: C2300WDR5 -> NIKE 20 / LUN in RAID5
=> you can identify a NIKE disk array easily by looking at the ioscan output!
