No, you cannot upgrade from 11iv1 to 11iv2 just by installing patches. That is not the way it works.

If you are on 11.11/11iv1 then you need different patch bundles.

I have 11.23 server that is installed from media which is old. I need to patch it to bring it to current hp-patch level. I need to load Mar-06, Jun-06, Sep-06, Mar-07 std patch bundles for 11.23 in order to bring it to current level. Do I have to load these patch bundles one by one in chronological order or I can just load Mar-07 which would take care of all previous bundles. Hope my question is clear. If not, pls let me know.
Thank you all for your replies.
Rajos

Hi:

The stand patch bundles are cumulative. Thus, you only need to apply the latest.

Since you say "old" be sure that you have satisfied the September 2004 bundle requirement:

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/rsb/rsbDisplay.do?fileName=patches_hpux/hpux11iv2_9000_integrity.htm

Regards!

...JRF...

You need only Mar 07 bundle.

After that run patch assesment ( http://www5.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/assessSystemsPage.do?BC=main| )
to get new patches - after latest QPK.

regards,
ivan

Shalom,

I would let the March 2007 patch set sit there for a while before installing it. September 2006 has proven itself quite nicely.

Even if the system is base September 2004 the update will make it current.

SEP
