I don't know the model of your server, but the easiest method on most servers is to log on to the MP and run "sysrev".

In case of a Integrity server you can also run
/usr/contrib/bin/machinfo
but you won't get the MP version.

Better to run

MP:CM> sysrev

Your version of the online diagnostics is probably old. Always keep the diagnostics up to date:

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayInstallInfo.do?productNumber=B6191AAE

Check the version of both the working and failing cstm programs.

Swarup,

From GSP prompt you can use:

GSP:CM> sysrev

for Itanium System: > info sys

from cstm , looks like your Firmware is not upto date,
- You need to update the firmware. Download the firmware update file and copy it to /var/tmp/ and run cstm .
Itis pretty easy,

cstm>hplicense
cstm> ...
cstm>
cstm>firmwareupdate

cstm>

Btw, which model of hp9000 you are using,

Hth,
Raj.
Hi all
I just want to le you know one info regarding the tools disable issue.
when I run the cstm ,the error messages are coming saying that diag daemons are not running.
I have run the daemon diagmond.
but when i tried to run diaglogd it was hung.after that when i ran the commnad cstm ..the following error comes.

Running Command File (/usr/sbin/stm/ui/config/.stmrc).

Waiting to obtain host information from the local host rxp01bka.na.bestbuy.com.
The diagnostic daemon "diagmond" may have been started recently and is busy
building the device map.

If this message persists for a long time, it is possible that either the
diagnostic daemon is not running, or that networking is improperly configured.
The networking configuration can be verified by comparing 'nslookup `hostname`'
with the output of ifconfig of the LANs identified by lanscan.

If you cancel this message, the User Interface (UI) will not automatically
connect to a Unit Under Test (UUT). It will be necessary to use the Select
Current System command in the System menu to attach the UI to a UUT.
...after that no output is coming .just hung .
Pls let me know the possible reasons.
First make sure your diagnostics version is current:

http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stm_upd.htm

If the diagmond daemon is restartet it could take several minutes until the device map is built.
