    <description>Hi Sanaullah,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The volume group can be active when reporting the configuration (-r) or displaying a table of available settings (-t). The volume group must be de-activated before vgmodify can perform any configuration changes &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hence De-activate the VG and and try again.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgchange -a n /dev/vg03&lt;BR /&gt;# vgmodify -l 10 /dev/vg03&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps you!!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Babu</description>

      <description>On a test server I had fixed the max lv to 2 by on vg by vgcreate -l 2 now i want to extend that number by 10 but thats not working as error shows:-&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgmodify -l 10 vg03&lt;BR /&gt;vgmodify: The volume group "vg03" is active on this system.&lt;BR /&gt;Cannot perform requested change.&lt;BR /&gt;also while using&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgmodify vg03 -l 10&lt;BR /&gt;vgmodify: -B must be specified in conjunction with a PV list&lt;BR /&gt;which command should i use as i tried these things first time.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks in Advance for supports.</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;see the remarks for this command:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-60130/vgmodify.1M.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-60130/vgmodify.1M.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Perhaps you have to de-activate the VG first.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyway, 10 as the maximum for the LVOLs is a little less.</description>

      <description>Thanks for all the support but one thing is that after deactivating and modifying the VG we can not directly do any action on that VG without activating the same by &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgchange -a y &lt;VOLUME group="" name=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thank you all again&lt;BR /&gt;Mohammad Sanaullah&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/VOLUME&gt;</description>
