PVlink create error

Hi Guys,
I have encountered an error while adding link to a existing volume group.

# vgextend vg01 /dev/rdsk/c9t1d0
vgextend: Physical volume "/dev/rdsk/c9t1d0" is not a block special file.
Usage: vgextend
[-f]
[-A Autobackup]
[-x Extensibility]
[-g PhysicalVoumeGroupName]
[-z SparePV]
VolumeGroupName PhysicalVolumePath...
"PhysicalVolumePath": must be a block special file.
#
# vgextend vg01 /dev/rdsk/c8t1d0

Any idea why this error is ?

Basically LUN d0 has 4 paths.

vgextend vg01 /dev/dsk/c8t1d0

Hi

You have to do the vgextend with dsk
try
# vgextend vg01 /dev/dsk/c9t1d0

that should work

You need to use the /dev/dsk (NOT /dev/rdsk) device with vgextend.

vgextend vg01 /dev/dsk/c9t1d0
