Has any used the qmh2462 card in the itanium blade running 11.23 hp-ux? I have everything installed and cabled, but can't seem to get a link on the switch. Ioscan shows claimed, with desc. as 4gb and HOPE it can auto-neg down to 2gb since thats all we have here. FCMSUTIL shows proper driver and 'awaiting link'. Bottomline is that I never used this type of card nor the Itanium blade. Is there another tool to check the fiber card spec and/or change settings?

Just poking around, it sure doesn't look like its supported under hpux:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/fibrechannel/qlogic/index.html

Under:
Multiple OS Support
Microsoft® Windows® and Linux operating systems

Another part that doesn't mention hpux:
This new adapter is RoHS compliant, has low power requirements, 150,000 IOPS per port 4Gb performance and driver support for Windows and Linux. The Linux driver includes a new and improved failover feature that now includes dynamic load balancing. QLogic embraces the use of common drivers which means that customers can standardize on one QLogic driver whether they are using the QMH2462 or other 4Gb and 2Gb HBAs powered by QLogic.

It talks about driver support for Windows and Linux. Nothing about hpux.

Your OS driver looks good. The card is supported with 11.23 (we call it 403621-B21, and you can see it listed in the HP-UX Fibre Channel Support Matrix at http://docs.hp.com/en/FCJ-SM/FCJ-SM.htm)

Perhaps there is some issue in the path from the mezzanine card through the I/O module in back of the BL860c to the storage.

By the way, the card auto-negotiates. You don't need to set the speed.
Found the issue, apparently the fiber card was factory installed in SLOT 1. For our configuration, I found that the card must be in SLOT 2. So OS looked good, storage/fiber cable was good = just the qlogic card couldn't connect to the enclouser's fiber switch. Bottomline, moved card from slot 1 to 2 and everything works now!
