Install SSH

Hi All,

I want to install SSH in my HP Ux Ver 11.xx , i already downloaded depot software from HP. So after i install it, is it need reboot a PC ??

I want to Telnet using SSH and SFTP , after i install SSH , can i use both and no need to configure SSH ?
What software prefare support both Telnet SSH and SFTP ( My PC Client Use Windows??

No you don't need to reboot HP-UX after installing ssh - it should work right out of the box...

For windows the PuTTY utilities seem to be afirly popular:

No reboot required in hpux. You can use both telnet and ssh.

Putty is a very good free client for ssh.

Once you have the daemons installed for sftp, scp and ssh you should consider to disable telnet/ftp for security reasons.

Hello,

We use "SSH Tectia" on the unix servers. this was just a easy swinstall. for the PC we use F-Secure to connect with SSH.

Hi

HP has he Open-SSH product

HP-UX Secure Shell

As others suggested I would also recommed that you install this (No reboot required) and try and make a sucessfull connection from you PC (Putty can be used) then disable telnet, also the SSH keys setup and handling are good , please sure nto to mix different version of SSH (especially f-secure) which you migth run into issues setting up the SSH keys.

i already install ssh and work , i can sftp dan secure telnet .
Now how i to disable telnet and ftp in my server ??

edit the /etc/inetd.conf file and comment the telnet and ftp line to stop these services
