vgextend error

Hi

When i give vgextend command, it gives me following error:

vgextend: Couldn't install the physical volume /dev/dsk/c4t6/d1. Too many Links.

Please let me know how to resolve this issues.

Hi Reshman,

Is it a typo or do you have an extra slash after the 6 and before the d ?

Currently the max limit is 8 paths to a PV (seven alternates and one primary).

How can you suggest a patch for 11.00 without knowing the current OS version?

As Francis said, there are limits.

Do you want to extend the alternate links?

Sorry - I was refering to a instance we had a few years ago with hpux 11.0. The message fitted what I had.

Torsten is right, I have given you information that applies to only 11.0.

Apoligies if you are running a later OS.
