i am not able to login as root via any other console

hi all ,

i am not able to login through any console using his root a/c .
i am able to login with other user a/c from console.
i am not using any special character in his password and system is not trusted.

If understand correctly the problem is with your /etc/securetty file. Search this forum for "etc/securetty".

You probably have a syntax error in securetty or bad permission mode. Can you login as another user and then "su - root"? If not you may have to crash the server and boot in singleuser mode in order to fix it.
