    <description>You can use validation trough ldap on the samba server, and its looking fot the ldap library.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I had to install for the cifs to work. the ldap  and kerberos client:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; J4269AA               B.03.30.01     LDAP-UX Integration&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; KRB5CLIENT            C.1.3.5.05     Kerberos V5 Client Version 1.3.5.05&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you can download them from itrc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cya&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <title>Samba Startup problem</title>

      <description>Hi to all.&lt;BR /&gt;I have CIF Server / Client in my HP-UX 11iv1 server, and when I try to run smaba this is what the system tells me:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ensnada4:/usr/local# tail -1 /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log&lt;BR /&gt;Feb  8 10:43:54 ensnada4 CIFS Server: smbd &amp;amp; nmbd failed to start&lt;BR /&gt;ensnada4:/usr/local# /sbin/init.d/samba stop&lt;BR /&gt;No smbd or nmbd was running.&lt;BR /&gt;winbindd is not running.&lt;BR /&gt;ensnada4:/usr/local# /sbin/init.d/samba start  &lt;BR /&gt;/usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't find path for shared library: libldap.sl&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/lib/dld.sl: No such file or directory&lt;BR /&gt;/opt/samba/bin/startsmb[6]: 27450 Abort(coredump)&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't find path for shared library: libldap.sl&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/lib/dld.sl: No such file or directory&lt;BR /&gt;/opt/samba/bin/startsmb[7]: 27454 Abort(coredump)&lt;BR /&gt;Unable to start smbd &amp;amp; nmbd!&lt;BR /&gt;ensnada4:/usr/local# swlist -l product | grep CIF&lt;BR /&gt;  CIFS-Client           A.02.02.01     HP CIFS Client &lt;BR /&gt;  CIFS-Development      A.02.03.02     HP CIFS Server Source Code Files &lt;BR /&gt;  CIFS-Server           A.02.03.02     HP CIFS Server (Samba) File and Print Ser&lt;BR /&gt;vices &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have all the dependencies for the CIF components and I installed a C Compiler as some pages sugested to do in case some problems where encountered in here.&lt;BR /&gt;Can anyone tell a solution?       <description>Hi again.&lt;BR /&gt;I just installed the patches it required and the LDAP bundle&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ensnada4:/var/opt/samba# swlist -l product | grep LDAP                        &lt;BR /&gt;  LdapUxClient          B.04.00.02     LDAP-UX Client Services &lt;BR /&gt;  NisLdapServer         B.04.00.02     The NIS/LDAP Gateway (ypldapd) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But even so the system tells me same things.</description>

      <description>I already had installed LDAP and Kerberos and all patches CIF needed. I still don´t know why it does not work, so I will open a support case with HP. Thanks although</description>
