      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am doing vgextend with new physical volume and getting below error&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgextend: IO error with physical volume /dev/dsk/xxxxxx&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;diskinfo and DD going well on this disk.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Disk are from EMC storage.......&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please suggests.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;try to initialize the disk first with pvcreate.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you are sure that it isn't used, try to force initialization with -f flag.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Mounaam</description>

      <description>Hai,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;First u can create PV &lt;BR /&gt;#pvcreate -F /dev/rdsk/pvname&lt;BR /&gt;#vgextend vgname /dev/dsk/pvname&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can try with this.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;chandra</description>

      <description>Chandra - the parameter is -f not -F.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SKR - did you pvcreate your new LUN?&lt;BR /&gt;double check that you did it in new LUN.</description>
