Hi All,

In my HP-UX server, we have set TZ as UAE-4,
I have difference of 5 hours between date and date -u, actually it should be 4.

Can any one help me why it is so?

In another server, it is working fine.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

Pramodu.
I assume you did this:
$ TZ=UAE-4 date
$ date -u

I can't see how you could have it 5 hours off unless you have an entry in /usr/lib/tztab that says to use DST, or has -5 there.

hello,
Please check the value of the kernel setting dst, if you do not use daylight savings like we do in higher latitudes this should be set to 0 . Also check that kernel setting timezone is set to (minus)
-240 (minutes east of greenwich )

Mike .

Shalom,

There are a number of patches available for DST issues at patch database link of http://itrc.hp.com

I recommend you review them and get them installed along with a recent bi-annual patch set also available on the same site.

SEP

Dear All,

Thanks for your reply.

The issue was with tztab file, it was carrying some junk characters. I have removed the same and executed again. Now system time is OK.

Thanks & Regards,

Pramod

Dear Dennis,

Sorry...

I tried to assign individual points to each reply, it was not working. I was getting page cannot be displayed error message.

Today again i tried the same, not working. So, i did one guess and assigned 5 points to the first reply. The same point got assigned to all.

Thanks & Regards,

Pramodu. C. P
