      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have edited the /etc/mail/aliases file and added the new mail id in this but i am not getting any mails do i need to restart any service after adding the aliases.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Avinash&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>You shouldn't have to restart the service.&lt;BR /&gt;But it doesn't hurt.  I've seldom had to restart before after adding an alias.  But most of the time I don't.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/sendmail restart&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;or &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop ; /sbin/init.d/sendmail start</description>
