RISC strings vpdb does not include a boot device

I think my prob is at the bch but what do I know, I can't fix it.

I have a rp8440.
First vpar on the npar
HP-UX v0 B.11.23 U 9000/800 2905991401 unlimited-user license
# lvlnboot -v

So no boot device is being populated when I create the vpar.

HELP PLEASE.

I have looked thru the manual and I cant find what I am doing wrong.

I think it is because you do not seem to be specifying the LBA or I/O card at the vparcreate command.
I believe you should try:
vparcreate -p vpar0 -a mem::2048 -a cpu::2 -a io:2/0/0 -a io:2/0/0/2/0.6.0:boot

The above assumes the BA address is 2/0/0
Look at your ioscan output for the addres of teh ba that the boot disc sits on, for example:

0/0/0 ba ba Local PCI Bus Adapter (782)
....

0/0/0/3/0.6.0 disk

Here is your solution:

# swlist | grep -i virtual
T1335BC A.04.03.03 HP-UX Virtual Partitions for 11.23

According to the

HP-UX Virtual Partitions Ordering and
Configuration Guide
T1335CC, T1335BC, T1335AC

version A.04.03 is **too old** for your system.

This version does not support the rp8440 - you need at least A.04.04 or better A.04.05 for 11.23.

Other systems are probably not rp8440's.
