What is the perpose of UID on a Blade server. What does it mean when it is turned Off or ON from the LCD Display...

The Blue(UID Turned OFF)/ Green(UID Turned ON) Screen ???

Hi Grayh,

Unit Identification --> if you turn it on you are able to locate/find the correct blade in the chassis (or the complete datacenter)

So If I understand it correctly... If I turn it Off.. No one will be able to log on to the blades remotely.. Please Correct me If I am wrong...

The locator LED, or unit identifier (UID) allows a specific server blade to be identified in a rack or data center environment. One Locator LED is located in the front panel.
