Network IP change

I would like to change IP address in newly installed rx6600.I have seen in SAM but there are so may options are available.

Could you please help in this matter?

Hi

edit
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
and restart net service
/sbin/init.d/net stop start
or with ifconfig
ifconfig lan0 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

check your lan interface with:
lanscan

You can use the set_parms script to change the ip-address.

# set_parms ip_address

Hard core:

vi /etc/rc.config.d/netconf

Don't make a backup in /ec/rc.config.d it will get read next boot and you will have no networking.

Make backup elsewhere.

Make your change

restart the net daemon, better yet reboot.

What you mean exactly. Are you finding more numbers of lan cards there such as lan0,1,2,3,4,5 etc. If its the case, you need to check & verify the network port which you are using and then configured accordingly.

You can use SAM and also you edit.

/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
/etc/hosts

And after this you need to restart the net daemon.

/sbin/init.d/net stop/start

Hi,

If you still want to use SAM, goto Network and communications -> Network interface cards ->Select the card you want to change -> Goto actions -> here you can to the following.

Modify --> to modify the existing ip's

Add IP logical interface --> Add another ip for the same card

Disable --> Disable the interface temporary.
But it won't delete the config

Delete --> To remove the config permanently.
you can configure with new ip's

Also make sure that /etc/rc.config.d/netconf is updated to make it permanently.
