Sanjay,

I powered off and powered on the tape library and the hardware error went away, however, when I try to move a tape into drive one, the hardware erro came back. It seems to be a problem with the first drive., because when it was
doing a self test it had an error.
. So I think it is a hardware error and I will call it in to HP support. Thanks for your help.

Sonny

Hi Sonny,

you have two drives in the library. If only one of them is giving problem you can try the mc command with the other drive (refer to it as D2) and see if the mc command works. If both the drive gives an error during self test, you can do any further testing only after replacing the drive. The library normally has some self test and exercise mech options under test. Refer to the library user manual for more details.

Hope this helps.

Regds
Hi,

One thought comes to mind. Have you set up a
device to drive the robot? If not have a
look at the attached document on how. It
is used to move tapes around your tape
library, door, drive slot.

-Michael
