    <description>In the hpux 11v2 i have the device name in four disk with cxtxdxsx, the other disk have the device name cxtxdx.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In hpux the disk device name was cxtxdx, why only four disk have sx?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Example:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;disk     14  0/0/8/1/0/4/0.1.0.0.0.0.3     sdisk    CLAIMED     DEVICE       HP      HSV210&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c7t0d3     /dev/dsk/c7t0d3s2   /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3    /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3s2&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c7t0d3s1   /dev/dsk/c7t0d3s3   /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3s1  /dev/rdsk/c7t0d3s3&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;disk     19  0/0/8/1/0/4/0.1.0.0.0.0.5     sdisk    CLAIMED     DEVICE       HP      HSV210&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c7t0d5   /dev/rdsk/c7t0d5&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;disk     21  0/0/8/1/0/4/0.1.0.0.0.0.6     sdisk    CLAIMED     DEVICE       HP      HSV210&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/dsk/c7t0d6   /dev/rdsk/c7t0d6&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;only the boot disks generally have the s1/2/3 added to them.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;that is because the boot disks need to be partitioned on the itanium systems. you are just seeing the dev files for each partition as well.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpus is installed in the s2 partition&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Andy</description>
