Hi Olivier,

I never tried, but I think you will see the same result as when you present an EVA vdisk in the wrong mode (like linux instead of hp-ux) - unpredictable.
In other (simple) words - array and server don't speak the same language - the addressing mode is different. You should ask HP, if and when hp-ux support is expected.

Now I know that HP-UX is not officially a "supported" OS for the MSA2000, and an older thread in May 2008 asked the same question.

But support aside, has anybody actually made the MSA2012fc _work_ with HP-UX? I can't just go on an buy one and test later...

My EVA is almost full and I'm just looking at a cheap way to store backup static data while staying on fiber. I don't want a NAS, don't want to have to invest in a EVA4400, and the MSA2012fc seems to fit my requirements perfectly.

Thanks

Hello Olivier,

HPUX support will be officially introduced for MSA2012 in January 2009. Maybe you could wait a few weeks and go ahead in a supported way shortly.

Jozef
