      <description>Hi Gurus,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am trying to login in my server by using root id &amp;amp; password but i am unable to logeed in, but i am able to switch to root user with same id &amp;amp; passwd.....Yesterday i have chnaged root passwd with some strong passwd.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Kindly help.</description>

      <description>hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;are you using telnet/ssh, "is direct root login" allowed in your Server,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;but i am able to switch to root user with same id &amp;amp; passwd&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;looks to me "that direct root login" not allowed, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check if your Server /etc/securetty root user allowed&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Johnson</description>

      <description>what does your /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file shows..?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;is your server trusted.? &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;can you Check your root account has been disabled..?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/lbin/getprpw -l root&lt;BR /&gt;(look for lockout =101000)--&amp;gt; meaning ur root account locked&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/lbin/modprpw -k root --&amp;gt; to enable your account&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;also can please give more light to your question and explains how you have manged to login..?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;but i am able to switch to root user with same id &amp;amp; passwd&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; chnaged root passwd with some strong passwd.&amp;lt;&amp;lt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;looks like you may have "enter" unacepatble character in the passwd field.?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Johnson</description>
