Setting root user profile

Hi

I want to know how to set the .profile(POSIX SHELL) file for root user in hp-ux(11i).In other users i am able see in their home directories.so i want to know in hp-ux how to set or modify the root user profiles.for example i want to set permanent aliases for some frequently used commads.If anybody know ,Pls help me.

Root's profile should be in ~/.profile.

Hello periyasamy,

If you are saying the "root" -- superuser account, the default home direcotry is '/' -- the root directory of whole filesystem.

So put your customized configuration in the
'/.profile' and re-login to activate it. Hope this can help you.
