hi there
I have hp server rp7420 with hp ux 11iv1
with oracle 10g installed my question is how to perform Routine maintenance for the server and the OS and the oracle.

Salam Tariq,

The best and recommended way is to take the Ignite-UX backup, Full File system Backup ,database/application backup before maintenance tasks start.

Run nickel script and view its output, its in HTML format, or you can use the following commands.

#dmesg
#check /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file
#uptime
#check for logs by MP/GSPlogin , use SL command , see attention LED status
#top
#bdf
#ioscan -fn
#check /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log
#check the mail for root
