kernel panic error

I AM having hpux 11.11 test server which recently patched and can not bootup with kernel panic error.

any good suggesion.

if you have ignite backup, you can restore the system in previous state.

You can boot server by alternate boot path.

Hi ,

Can you please post what "kernel panic error"..?

You try booting the system with /stand/vumix.pre /stand/system.prev

Becoz whilre performing kernal Patch" Server will backup the pervious .vmunix and system.prev

reboot the Server
intterupt and type at ISL>hpux 11 /stand
(will list files under /stand)

exits

At the ISL prompt enter "hpux /stand/vmunix.prev"
If this works the system will boot the previous kernel.

do you still remember what patches you had applied?

i believe you had applied kernal patches which cause this issue.

if this cause becuase of your recent patching activity you should able to boot your server with privous kernal which is good kernel for this server.

basically when we appiled for kernal related patch system it self take backup for its current kernel.
