Error in tape backup verification

Hi all,

We are using Tape Drive /dev/rmt/1mn for backup.
When Verification Process Started we got below error messages.
frecover(2114): read error from input device (I/O error)
frecover(2113): unable to resync backup media

Again after some time it gave us below error and verification process failed.
frecover(2114): read error from input device (I/O error)
frecover(1045): error in trailer recovery

It looks like a bad tape. Or you need to clean the drive.

Hi Dennis,

We cleaned the drive and retried the verification, but it failed again with same error.is there any patches to fix this problem?

(What type of tape & drive is it?)
It seems like it is a bad tape, patches won't fix that.

have tried cleaning the drive..?
or change the tape and try again,

Its purealy H/w issue nothing with Patch
