i have connect tape drive on hpux 11i
in ioscan output it's show as
10/0/15/0.0.0 unknown HP C1537A

please tell me how to create device file for tape.

You need to include the "stape" driver into the kernel.

Torsten is right, you need to enable the "stape" kernel module to static and it may take a reboot.

HI...
First run
#kcmodule stape
Will give u output something like
Module State Cause
stape unused

Then give
# kcmodule -h stape=static

-h will hold the changes till next reboot.
