interesting sendmail issue

We have our DR system with sendmail problems. The system is running 11.23, and all patched up to date. For some reason, I can't get sendmail to run. However, the /var/spool/mqueue fills up rapidly. I have a cron task deleting the contents of that every 15 minutes. If I didn't, it would probably fill up /var rapidly.

Any ideas?

I have the same /etc/mail/aliases as production.

More detail needed to give much useful info, but here are a couple of questions to fill in some gaps...

Is sendmail not starting or is it just not sending mail?

Is your network environment the same for production and DR? If not, is the sendmail.cf the same? Chances are differences will need to exist so the DR system can send through whatever firewalls or other network barriers may exist.

Sendmail appears to be working, but not sending any mail.

What should I look for in the sendmail.cf file? ip address?

you need to check maillog to find what is causing this.

The most common one would be to point to the relay host.

sendmail.cf

Shalom,

Take a look at /var/adm/syslog/mail.log

That will tell you the source of the emails.

It could be a cron job filling up the queue.

It was the sendmail.cf file. Everything looks good now...thank you for all of your expedious responses.

I want directly connect a Microplex solid F24 printer to HP-UX.If there is anybody experinced before,please advise.
I found Mr. Jeff Triagle connected some Microplex boxes to HP-UX.

I will be really tankful if i get a help in configuring sendmail in my servers running with 11iv23 os

1.how i can configure the mail client.
2.The send mail is creating continuous error and creating log files of same that the message cannot be send to the other server.how can i control that?
