Did you try swinstall already? The sw tools don't care about the file prefix, so try this or have a look inside the tar.

Hi:

.depot is a tar format. You have 2 ways:

1) tar -xvf <FILE> in a directory
1.1) swreg -l depot <DIRECTORY of="" files="" untared="">
1.2 swinstall -s <DIRECTORY>

other way:
rename tar file as .depot and make a swreg -l depot <FILE>
swinstall the file .depot
regards</FILE></DIRECTORY></DIRECTORY></FILE>

>The file downloaded is a tar file, not depot file:

How do you know? You should use swlist to check:
swlist -s $PWD/Serviceguard-11.31-A.11.19.00sw.tar

Internally a tape depot looks like a tar file. The depot may also be named as .tar since some browsers don't know what to do with .depot.

>Roberto: 1) tar -xvf <FILE> in a directory

Ack, don't do that! The proper command is swcopy to create (and register) a directory depot.</FILE>
