Hi,

We are trying to install those patches PHKL_22120, PHKL_22122 and PHKL_22589 but it requieres
JFS.JFS-BASE2-KRN. Where can we find the JFS.JFS-BASE2-KRN so we can proceed the installation of Veritas Foundation Suite?

Hi,

The filesets that you are talking about are part of the JFS (on-line JFS) product. These are an add-on to LVM. This product needs to purchased separately, or perhaps you may need to re-install it.

Actually, we are installing veritas file system(JFS 3.3) and volume manager of Veritas product. Through the ITRC, we found out that those patches do not have dependencies. Can we install the following patches even w/o the file JFS.JFS-BASE2-KRN?

you can't install those patches without the base on-line JFS product which you need to buy from HP.

Hi,

The filesets for JFS 3.1 and 3.3 are named different. So you must check that you have installed Online JFS and wich version have you. I think this doc can help you:

For HP-UX 11.00 their exists 2 different JFS versions.

The oldest version is JFS 3.1. With the command "fstyp -v /dev/vg00/" this shows up as vxfs version 3.

The command "#swlist -l bundle", lists the product number B3929BA. (or B5118BA if per accident the s700 bundle definition is choosen)

The second version that came out for HP-UX 11.00, is JFS 3.3.

With the command "fstyp -v /dev/vg00/ this shows up as vxfs version 4.

The command "#swlist -l bundle", lists the product number B3929CA.

Each JFS version has 2 versions, a (free) basic version and a (payable) online version.
