set java path

I install java 1.6.0.01.01 on hpux11i.
but it is not show when give whereis java command.

it install path is /opt/java6/jre/bin/java
i set this path manule in /etc/profile but it is not working .

please help tell me how set java path.

try set PATH.

export PATH=$PATH:/opt/java6/jre/bin
