I mistakenly deleted the syslog files from my system.

Please let me know in anyway i can retrieve the file back.

Yes, you can recover the syslog files,from your latest ignite backup.

I had that option but its of no use. Ignite backup we have is 6 months old.

in any ways can we have the latest log files.

It's gone when deleted. There is nothing like undelete or whatever.

I copied the syslog for review to HP some 3 weeks back. And I have that copy. will it anyway helpful in resolving my problem.

I am not an expert in HP-UX and am a core application administrator using HP-UX platform

What is the problem now?

Does the system still log anything?

Deleted data is gone.

If there is no syslog.log file currently present, consider to restart syslogd

At-last I recreated the syslog with touch and started it again. Now its working.
