Installed HP Integrity VM,, but getting "HPVM currenlty not running"

Hello,

Installed HP Integrity VM ( T267CC ). Machine rebooted fine, and T267CC shows in swlist. When I run hpvmstatus, I am getting:

hpvmstatus: HPVM currently not running.
hpvmstatus: Unamble to continue.

I ran hpvmstart and still got the same message.

hpvmstart is for starting guests, not host software.

Any errors/warnings during install?

# hpvmstatus -v

# swlist

Hello Torsten,

I ran hpvmstatus -v and got the same two lines.

I'm still working via console ( dumb terminal ) as I'm still waiting for the network guys so I can't paste the output. What in praticular do you want to see in the swlist?

If all components are installed and what version it is.

For example, if HP SIM is installed, only a few minor components will be installed, the main components will be excluded, hence no HPIVM.

Hello Torsten,

I checked for the inhibitors (1) hfs (2) HPSIM ,and VirtualPartition and they are not installed.

For the VM release the following are not there:
VNProvider
VSE-OE
PRM-Sw Krn
B8465BA

The ones below got installed:
T2767CC
VMGuestLib
VMGuestSW
VMKernelSW

Still not sure what version you are running ... 3.5, 4.0, 4.1 ... ?

Did you check all needed patches already?

However, if the software is installed, you should see

# hpvmstatus
hpvmstatus: No guests currently configured.

at the beginning, so I think there was something wrong during install. Consider to review the install log.

I am installing 4.1

I will check logs and pre-req again.

Do you know of pre-req list for 4.1?

Confirm that Hyper-Threading is deactivated on that server (use setboot).
