The ignite server cannot be used (to my knowledge) to update patches on multiple machines.
The ignite server is meant to install systems, without having to run around with DVD's.
If you have to patch multiple systems, create one software depot somewhere on a server, give all servers read access to this depot, an run swinstall on every system separately, pointing to swinstall to the software depot on the remote server.
