And the question is?

It appears that there was no data from the 'ls' after 1-minute (the timeout).

And this is running where?

Does it work any better using a simple
command-line FTP client program?

Active mode any better than passive?

Can you do FTP from a client on the same
system as the server? (Any malconfigured
firewalls between your normal client and the
problem server?)

What's the software on the server system?

You actually tried connecting to _all_ other
sites? Wow. That must've taken quite a
while.
