good morning
I have the next question?

disk must be allocated through the EMC (sam)

- How to get the physical address of the disk (LUN)?
- How to add the disk to the server?
- In this case I need to export the vg to another server (failover) and do? fail if the primary server
- As knowing the type of RAID disk?
for example:
1/0/4/1/0/4/0.19.100.0.0.0.6
LUN address?

insf -C disk
insf -e

inq
# EMC disk display utility. May or may not be installed on your system.

ioscan -fnC disk

The last command will get you the hardware information and disk device information you need.

The raid information on the disk is not going to be known to the system. That is handled and managed entirely with the EMC disk utilities.

For physical address of the disk you need to give
ioscan -fnC disk
or
ioscan -fnH

for lun address you need to contact storage team.

This is type EMC?

if a virtual machine (Version 3.0 and 3.5).

which is how to assign disk to VM
disk is assigned to the host and then the VM?

Hi,

Hope EMC Solution Enabler & Powerpath Softwares are installed in your machine.

/usr/symcli/bin/syminq-----> It will give all LUNS assigned to your system from EMC storage.

you can also check with
powermt display commmand

In case of IVM, assign the LUNS to IVM host machine. Add the LUNS to guest with hpvmmodify command.

if you do powermt display dev=all it will show the whole information for you paths and multipathing
