How to check if a perticular backup is a success or a failure.. and what would be the troubleshooting steps to Resolve backup failure issues.

if you are referring to HP Data proctector ??

man omnidb (for information)

omnistat will list all running sessions

omnistat -session

omnidb -rpt -session (see above) -detail

Determine that said backup completed successfully?

again we use many commands like

omnidb -session -> will also show status competed of the backup

omnid -session -report

/opt/omni/bin/omnirpt -report list_sessions -timeframe 24 24
