    <description>real at top is not the actual memory that the os could use. try swapinfo -atm, and there are other way to find out the amount of memory of the os. see:&lt;BR /&gt;Physical: 4194304 Kbytes, lockable: 3097172 Kbytes, available: 3568240 Kbytes&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check the physical memory from this command.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#echo "selclass qualifier memory;info;wait;infolog" | cstm&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;to check hardware failure, you have to see the syslog or from MP&amp;gt;SL&amp;gt;E (E - System Event)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Asif Sharif&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Are you sure you're looking at the right server? The output of the "model" command does not match with the model you stated.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; 9000/800/L3000-5x&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This is "L3000 (L-class)" in older nomenclature, also known as a rp5470 in the current model numbering scheme.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The output of the "model" command in a rp3410 should be:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;9000/800/rp3410&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyway, please run "swapinfo -tam" and "kmtune | grep swap" and post the outputs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;MK</description>

      <description>top doesn't display all of physical memory, that first value is User Real memory in total (and active in the parenthesis).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;User memory does not include Free memory or system memory -- so that's where the rest of your memory is.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And a low free is normal -- HP-UX prefers high memory utilization (better caching in RAM) so memory reclamation doesn't start getting serious until things dip below the memory paging threshold (lotsfree).       <description>in another server, rx4640, we have also 4GB RAM, but currently it is showing 4GB using the top command, and free 2GB RAM.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this means that HPUX does not always prefer to high memory utilization.</description>
