Hi All,

I am having a HPUX 11iV2 OS. Lately i have noticed that there is a process named "krsd" which takes up very high amount of CPU resource. The time when it is using top resource of CPU, the idle CPU is 0% at that time and it runs for a long time. Does anyone has come across such situation? can i kill the krsd process at the time when it runs with high CPU usage? Anyone has got any solution?

Please help......

Regards,

Vijay Alur.

Start by reading the man pages for krsd(1m). Killing it is simply going to cause it to be respawned by init and potentially cause some persistent data not to get written to disk. I would advise caution.

Thanks Pete for the reply!!

i did see the man page, but it does not mentioned any effect of killing the process. i suspect a performance patch should cure the issue. Lets see if it is a known issue faced by some one in the forum........

Regards,

Vijay Alur.

The patch doesn't seem to address CPU usage (but you never know):

Symptoms:

Shalom,

Generally, keeping current on bi-annual patches, known as QPK does help you avoid these types of issues. Having a policy of patching systems twice a wear with QPK is a good policy.

I would search the Patch database for this symptom and make sure any solution you attempt is complete.

SEP
