11.31 - no cstm, how to get tape device serial numbers?

Now that (c)stm is gone, I can't find a way to retrieve a tape device's serial number. I need to be able to track which tape device is which physical drive in a library in a tape SAN environment. Can anyone help?

I know STM is marked as deprecated, but its not "gone" yet is it? I mean, you can still install and use it, I think?

Otherwise, what about HP's Library & Tape Tools utility?

stm is indeed disabled in 11.31 now:

root@msc02:/# cstm
This command is not supported on this server model. Please use System Management Homepage (see hpsmh(1M)).

I'll take a look at tapetools.

What model is the system and what release of 11.31 is installed? I ask as I do have 11.31 systems that run STM without issue.

Is your.? server model rx2800 with hpux 11.31

if yes. can you try /opt/propplus/bin/cprop

You're probably right. I tested another machine running 11.31 and there is stm available. It must be this particular model, as indeed indicated by the error message.
