Page 11 of the latest HP-UX 11i Support Matrix says 11.31 is not supported on N4000.

Apparently one of the requirements for 11.31 is a reasonably modern chipset: zx1 seems to be the oldest chipset supported by 11.31. The rp34xx would be the oldest PA-RISC systems that can run 11.31.

No way. The chipset of the N4000 (rp7400) is not supported by 11.31.
