I have made a change to the resolv.conf file, can I just kill the inetd demon of do I have to reboot the srever for the changes to take effect.

Hi Mike,

If you just make some change to /etc/resolv.conf, you don't have to do anything. The change is effective as soon as the changes are saved and you exit from the vi. You don't have to restart inetd or reboot the server.

No need to do anything if you have modified just resolv.conf file.

Your not using windoze, no need to reboot!!
