How to change the default temporary folder ( /temp ) to another folder in HP-UX ?

How to change the default temporary folder (which is currently pointing to the /temp partition) to another folder like /temp2 ?

Currently I want to install something on that server. The installer is trying to extract the source installer to the default temporary folder but failed to do so since the /temp partition is too small.

Since this is a production server, I do not want to resize the /temp partition because I don't want to restart the server. So... is there any way to change the default temporary folder into another folder without restarting the server?

Need help, please. Thank you.

Try setting the TMPDIR environment variable before you start the installation.

export TMPDIR=/temp2
