Installing software

Hi guys,
I??m trying to install HP JetDirect printer software on a HP-UX 11.0, I received a file (HP11e118.SD)from a friend but when I use the "install" command I don??t get it installed. Which options should I use to get it corrected installed on it? Thank you.

You need to use the swinstall command, not install. Change your 'source" to directory and then type in the full path including the filename ie, if its on /var, then type in /var/HP11e118.SD

Not a problem. We are all here to help others and when you need other assistance, just come back and fire away, because we don't hold one's experience against them. And a good tip is to always remember to give as much information as possible, like this:

What kind of computer,
model,
Operating System,
Release level of your OS,
what you are trying to perform,
release level of the software you are using,
when were the last patches installed,
what was the exact error message,
and when was the last time this worked?
