Install HP-UX 11i v3 with no local DVD

Hi,

I need to install HP-UX 11i v3 on a partition of a RP7420 server. This complex has two cells. Each cell is a partition (0 and 1). But only on the partition 0 there is a DVD ROM.

How I could install el SO on the another partition, with no local DVD ROM ?

Your best bet is to setup an Ignite server on the first partition and then use that to install to the second.

See the following for more info on Ignite and where to get the product (its free):

Basic steps woud be:

- Install Ignite/UX on partition 0 (no reboot is needed)

- Run the command 'ignite' and go through the motions to setup a server.

> you can copy the contents of the DVD to the server or just use the DVD as is for a one-time install.

- Boot partition 1 over the network using 'bo lan.<ip-of-par0> install'

Ignite-ux is the way to go, here you have step by step help, on how to install the OS or create Golden Images.
