Where can I find some documentation for the "vmunix:" errors? I've used other postings to figure out similar problems we've encountered here. But haven't been able to find HP documentaion for the error code.

Other than the standard error codes that can be found in /usr/include/sys/errno.h other codes are not really documented that well. What specifically are you after?

Basically, I am intrested in diagnosing disk errors/failures. For example I have learned that "vmunix: bp->b_dev: 1f01f000" refers to the device where the driver is 1f or 31 and the address/path to the device would be controller 0 target 1 lun f

I learned that from questions posted to the forum.

Now I don't know what to make of:
Dec 3 05:20:45 uxdbap1 vmunix: SCSI: Unexpected Disconnect -- lbolt: 4243, dev: cb040002, io_id: 4000001

I don't know if you break up the device description the same way. I also don't know the severity of SCSI: Unexpected Disconnect or say SCSI: Reset detected .

I've seen postings where people break down "vmunix: scb->cdb: *****" And wondered how did they figure that out??

So I searched for some documntation and did not find anything.

Just wondering if there was anything out there to help break down vmunix or SCSI error messages. Specifically, I would like to be able to filter syslogs and be able to identify failing disk.
