time taken for `ioscan -fn`

Any statistics on how much time it takes for
`ioscan -fn`?

I have
timex ioscan -fn
real 17.36
user 0.01
sys 0.22

Is this good or bad?

This totally depends on the type of hardware you are using, how many devices are attached, etc.

For example: on my SD32000 with 60 LUNs it returns almost immediately, but on my V2250 with 200 LUNs it takes many minutes.

Its that answer no one likes to hear ... "It depends".
