      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a rp7410 and a rp7420 server.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; When I connected a DDS4 drive via a SCSI cable,&amp;nbsp; I see the&amp;nbsp; drive in the BCH menu.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; But later when I go to install HPUX, the tape drive is not listed in the Hardware Summery of the HPUX installation process.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Later after the HPUX is installed, the drive is not shown in "ioscan -fnC tape".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How can the drive be seen just fine in BCH, but not seen in HPUX?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;Main Menu: Enter command or menu &amp;gt; sea all

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have seen something similar with a bad terminator and/or a bent pin (if you have 68pin connectors) - check termination and cable.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi Torsten,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you for reply.&amp;nbsp; I have connected a 2nd tape drive using a second cable and terminator.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I am still getting the same result.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I can see it in BCH, but not in HPUX.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;                                                                           IODC

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My apologies,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Here is what you requested.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Note:&amp;nbsp; I added a fiber connected tape drive to the system and it does appear as a device.&amp;nbsp; Still not sure why my SCSI tape drives do not appear.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE&gt;# ioscan -fn

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It looks like I may have found the issue here.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I took a Dat72 Drive that we have connected to another system and connected it to this one.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I rebooted and it was properly visible.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I saw that it used a different model of terminator.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I found another terminator of the same type and placed that on one of my three drives that the system has NOT been able to see. in HPUX.&amp;nbsp; Using the new terminator, the drive was now seen in HPUX.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So in short, I have several imcompatible terminators.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Uhgh.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you for you time in working with me on this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Don&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Maybe single ended.&amp;nbsp; The old SCSI cabling seems to be a black art to me.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Some cables work, others don't.&amp;nbsp; Some terminators work, others don't.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks again for your help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
