You can either add the disks to your raid5 and extend the logical drive, create a new logical drive within this raid5 or create a new (raid1) logical drive.

See also

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Disk-Array/add-new-disk/m-p/5726257#M45675

# man saconfig

Are you sure your two OS disks are configured as RAID 0 (Stripped) rather than RAID 1 (Mirrored)? If that's true, you may want to use the two new disks to make the OS disks RAID 1+0. If your OS is running on RAID 0 and you lose a disk, your OS will crash.

Otherwise, I would suggest you first use ignite make_net_recovery of the OS vg00 and a full backup of the rest of your system before making any changes to your array configuration. When you have done that, follow the procedures for adding disks to the array Users Guides, links below. You will use saconfig from the UX command line or ORCA from the POST to modify your existing RAID groups or create a new one. I would expand the RAID 5 group and then allocate the extra spaces as new logical drives.

HP Smart Array 6400 Series Controllers User Guide
